Christmas Conference & Side Quests - 21 Dec 2025

Image
Hey, What is up. This week was a little hectic. We kicked off the week by doing our final dance practice then going to the Christmas conference the next day (Wed.) The bus driver that took us had a lit bus shifter handle, it was a massive carved wooden snake. (See pics and videos in album) At Christmas conf, our dance was bangin' I looked like a ganster. (Also see pics in the album) It wasn’t a competition, but if it were we would have won. I saw all my batch mates there, which was chill. Guys are doing fine. Okay. I have been on the search for this for years, my mom will attest, because I had it once when I was a kid. My mom found and bought it and Me and Reece Coleman split this when I was 10. I found another yellow watermelon. Only the second time in my life. I’ve looked for years and finally found it in the Philippines. Quest achieved lol. The other thing that we tried/found is glass bottled Gatorade. There are these sari-sari stores and they sell all these glass bottled drin...

Putik Naman - 15 Dec 2025

This week was quite the week. It was my first full week with Elder Baker and mabanal guacamole my feet might die this transfer. He is very hardworking and we are going to get so much done these next 2 transfers but I'm going to learn really quick how to step up my missionary game.  Schedule of a day: we do our studies all in the morning and we go out around 12 and walk to the furthest friends we have then walk back. We get home at like 9:30 it's pretty gnarly but it'll be good. As for this week we had some interesting things happen. I fell completely into mud- it was so bad my phone, bag, pants and one arm were completely covered. I also lost a fruit that Nanay Gina gave to me, luckily the story made her laugh so she wasn't to destraught about me not trying it. We also happened to have kittens born right behind our house and the mom abandoned them. We had to make a decision between letting them die, putting them out of there misery, or raising them till we can find a re...

Kangaroo Jumping on the Bed - 8 Dec. 2025

Hello brothers and sisters.  I've determined that I'm going to try and learn as many random small skills as I can through my mission. I have currently improved my shuffling massively. Now I am learning how to whistle loud with my fingers. I'll let you know how it goes.  This week was so fun, it was transfer week and my companion left Monday so I was just with Elder Phelps and Elder Blaser as a trio and it was very fun. We found a ton of snail eggs in a flooded field and had fun with the physics of them.   My new companion is named Elder Baker coming from Sydney, Australia. He's awesome, very hard working, we are going to have a great time.   Elder Blaser gave me a haircut which looks pretty chill but is probably against mission standards. All is well though cause he's going to cut me up again. There was a farewell party for a sister in our district after 4 baptisms and so it was chill. Today we did some basketball and freaking practiced a dance that we are ...

Pagbibinyag (Baptism) - 1 Dec. 2025

Image
Fun week this week-- I was able to baptize Tatay Israel which was an awesome experience. He is a guy who has a couple boys who are already members. He has been being taught for 19 years or so. It was an amazing experience to get to baptize him. Aside from that, this week not a ton happened. I was able to try stingray which was pretty cool and our two friends, Nanay Gina and Sister Mary Ann both came to church, which was also cool. My trainer went home and I will be getting my new one soon. So I'm leading the area now, we'll see how it goes. I did some exchanges with Elder Phleps and Blaser and an Elder Flores. It was chill. We did some finding in the countryside and had a good time.  Aside from that not a lot happened this week. We are just in a weird limbo now while we wait for my new trainer. Love you all. Hope things are going well and you're still having fun. Elder Shill Photos:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ 2ABUVLWtixAjUgdJ9

Baptisms and Baptism - 24 Nov. 2025

Image
Sorry for no email last week. I was a little bit exhausted when p-day came around, but I will write a quick one this week cause I had some cool stuff happen. So here's a quick summary. Basically, we had joint DCM, which was just a blast, we just talked about numbers the whole time. We just worked and everything was normal.  But then this week I had the opportunity to go to the temple and I baptized Elder Chinoparequa for his dad which was really an amazing experience. The spirit was so strong, it was insane-- just another confirmation that the gospel is true. Then that Saturday or rather last Saturday, we had a baptism for a sister, Jenny Rose, which was just awesome. She has a very strong testimony and is ready to be a member. Now this week we will baptize Tatay Israel which I'm very excited about. The first set of missionaries to come to him was in 2006, which is crazy, cause I wasn't even alive yet.  Last p-day we went to Antong falls as a district which was so amazingly...

Whispered Egyptian Rat Slap - 10 Nov. 2025

Image
Welp, this week was pretty interesting. Sorry this is going to be a short email because not too much happened.  This week me and my comp curb stomped a rat which was probably the highlight of the week. We have been killing a lot of them recently with slingshots and just our feet. Our neighbors think it's funny and are glad we are doing it which is so chill. It was ominous all week though leading up to the typhoon. It was a super strange experience. It was like the world was suspended. Aside from that, our friends are still progressing towards baptism and finding is a little fruitless which is ok-- slow weeks are inevitable.  We then had a super typhoon hit us--which I just happened to sleep through. It was a good bonding experience for the kabahay (housemates) and I taught everyone how to play Egyptian Rat Slap which is now Elder Phelps' favorite game. I think I'm going to teach the whole mission the game. Basically, we just sat around with the power out for the day and...
