Whispered Egyptian Rat Slap - 10 Nov. 2025

 


Welp, this week was pretty interesting. Sorry this is going to be a short email because not too much happened. 

This week me and my comp curb stomped a rat which was probably the highlight of the week. We have been killing a lot of them recently with slingshots and just our feet. Our neighbors think it's funny and are glad we are doing it which is so chill. It was ominous all week though leading up to the typhoon. It was a super strange experience. It was like the world was suspended.

Aside from that, our friends are still progressing towards baptism and finding is a little fruitless which is ok-- slow weeks are inevitable. 

We then had a super typhoon hit us--which I just happened to sleep through. It was a good bonding experience for the kabahay (housemates) and I taught everyone how to play Egyptian Rat Slap which is now Elder Phelps' favorite game. I think I'm going to teach the whole mission the game. Basically, we just sat around with the power out for the day and a half. I showered in the rain which was so fun. And then I did the dishes in the rain and that was less fun.

Break break, it was chill, we had a fun fun time. We are excited to go back to work though.

Oh and the reason for the name is because we made a rule that we had to whisper and we played it by candle light which was really fun for some reason. Anyways peace.

What a week. We spent a lot of time walking around the Bukid and Bundock or farms and mountains. I think my butt its getting bigger or my pants are getting smaller cause I'm starting to get a little claustrophobic in those things, but its ok. That's why we have Ukay-Ukay, aka thrifting.  This week was chill, we had a lot of teachings and eleven new friends. Well hello there my fellow people, I hope that you are well and the sun has been shining in your life. If not, I hope that I can help provide a little sunshine or smile for you. These past two weeks have been interesting, that's for sure-- I've learned a lot about what I want to become, and what I want my mission to look like.  I had the opportunity to do exchanges with Elder Jessop, he was our formal AP for 10 months and he's in his last few transfers.  This experience was amazing, I have found it hard to explain the things that I learned to Elder Baker and Blaser. The largest thing though that really changed for me is numbers. I think I was just kinda like the rest of everyone around me, I didn’t like them but I "understood" why we have them. How many rolls is it socially acceptable to take at one time? - 6 Oct 2025

Kumusta po (hello, how are you doing) everyone? Sorry for wala (no) email last week, I was busy and really just didn't feel like writing one by the time that I was able to, so I'll cover what happened in this email. I've had the chance to try some crazy foods while I've been here. Its kinda wild but I've been enjoying it. I've eaten everything from chicken feet to some mango jello cream stuff. I can also say with full confidence that I have tried literally almost every part of the chicken aside from the head and it all tastes the exact same, the only thing that is different is the texture. So you might be a little curious about the title. Basically, the rolls here are the best thing I have ever had (sorry Bella they might top your bread.) These things are amazing. I'm averaging about 16 of them a day and if they served them at breakfast, I would probably be averaging 24 because they are so heavenly-- I don't know what they are putting into those things. ...
