Uuwi Na Sila (They are on their way home) - 29 June 2026



Magundang gabi my dear friends and family, this is Elder Shill coming at you from the land of the Philippines. I apologize for not being the best at emailing, it is a very easy thing to slip from ones mind.

This has been quite the transfer filled with a lot of sweet but definitely pretty freaking bitter goodbyes. Elder DeWitt (my current companion) Elder Phelps (the guy who lives 5 minutes from my parents house) and Elder Blaser all left this afternoon for their comfortable beds back in ol' Utah USA. Love all three of those boys and I am so grateful for their friendships and impact that they have had on me up to this point. It feels kinda weird now, I have never really experienced the Philippines without those guys and I'm not sure how this is going to go. However all the new wide eyed, unsuspecting, curious American kids will be coming in these next 2-4 months so I will get to their Phelps, Blaser and DeWitt, which will be really fun, and slightly stressful.

Sometimes God let's you think you understand things just so that he can show you just how ignorant and idiotic you are. I thought my Tagalog was coming along okay-ish. God quickly, and I mean quickly correct me😭 

Luckily my incoming comp (Elder Garcia) is Filipino so I will just try my best to only speak Tag with him to smooth out my issues.

The other guy coming in to my house is Elder Chapman from Perth Australia. I can't lie, I am very excited to live with an Aussie again. This is going to be lit.

As for things that happened this week, it was just a lot of normal work with members visits at night for them to say goodbye to Elder DeWitt. 

The previous week I did have the opportunity to go golfing which was so fun and so addicting, Ben please forgive me for ever doubting you. I have been converted to the golf cause and let me tell you it is going to be masakit to my wallet when I come back.🏌‍♂️

Besides that we are really just trying to reactivate and clean our member records here a ton this transfer which is going to be a fun little scavenger hunt and a half.

Anyways, that's all I've really got for you guys these past few weeks, there has been highs and lows as always but the time keeps going as always. Love y'all's ton, ingat kayo.

Well hello there my fellow people, I hope that you are well and the sun has been shining in your life. If not, I hope that I can help provide a little sunshine or smile for you. Kumusta po (hello, how are you doing) everyone? Sorry for wala (no) email last week, I was busy and really just didn't feel like writing one by the time that I was able to, so I'll cover what happened in this email. I've had the chance to try some crazy foods while I've been here. Its kinda wild but I've been enjoying it. I've eaten everything from chicken feet to some mango jello cream stuff. I can also say with full confidence that I have tried literally almost every part of the chicken aside from the head and it all tastes the exact same, the only thing that is different is the texture. So you might be a little curious about the title. Basically, the rolls here are the best thing I have ever had (sorry Bella they might top your bread.) These things are amazing. I'm averaging about 16 of them a day and if they served them at breakfast, I would probably be averaging 24 because they are so heavenly-- I don't know what they are putting into those things. ...

Tatays & Tennis - 2 Feb. 2026

Well this was a pretty normal week, we taught our lessons and that was really it. This week was really just pushing forward, we have many people that are so close but just feeling hesitant to accept baptism. So things there are about the same. The one really interesting thing that happened this week is that I got to play tennis for the first time in almost 6 months which was crazy. So very fun, I am now so very bad, but it fs made my day. Ya honestly this week was really just a grind and there's not much else to be said. We're really just trying to work as hard as possible to give opportunities to our friends to feel the spirit. I did have the opportunity to give sister Mary Ann a priesthood blessing, and I will say this was a very unique experience. We went to her house on Saturday to find out that she would not be attending church because she had an operation the next day.
