What a Changing Time - 25 Jan 2026




Well hello there friends and family, sorry I haven’t written in nearly a month, I've been rather busy. More over, I just could not be bothered, I love you guys though, so here I am.

Well, where did I leave off, its my black out year... We’ve been kicking it off good. Working hard and pushing forward.

I got to try some new things like balut which is the embryo of a duck. It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. 

We also attended a born again church, not sure if I wrote about that already, so I'll go on.

I did some exchanges with Elder Phelps and we had a good talk. I learn every day what I want my own mission to look like more and more. Speaking of Elder Phelps, he's now gone. We had transfers and he is in a different zone now. I'm going to request to be his last companion and hopefully by then I'm fully fluent in Tagalog.

On another note we got to work on this guys farm, and I moved piglets in sacks, it was chill. We are going to go cobra hunting with him sometime so I'll let you know how it goes. 

As for actual things, I found a weird abandoned pool water park thing with Elder Baker that was weird, and I also found a freaky Elmo thing.

As for the work, things are going well. We haven't baptized anyone but we put Adgardo on date and Sister Mary Ann and Gina both know that it's true, they just haven't said yes to baptism yet which is ok. But I will probably be transferred soon and I want to be there when they get baptized- so hopefully they will feel ready soon.

We are finding many new people one of which is Amanda. She asks a lot of questions and frankly scares me. She came to church to "observe" though which was chill. I think she will end up being baptized though, she's too curious not to see the truth in our words. She's 30 and is trying to do business.

I had a weird experience where a lady who could barley walk came to us with Book of Mormons and returned them. She said she was going to throw them away but the felt like she should bring them to us. It was very weird, the books were from 2017 and 2019, it was crazy.

Aside from that, it was kind of just the same old, I don't know what else to really add. I love you all though and I'm doing good so don't worry about me. Love you all.

What a week. We spent a lot of time walking around the Bukid and Bundock or farms and mountains. I think my butt its getting bigger or my pants are getting smaller cause I'm starting to get a little claustrophobic in those things, but its ok. That's why we have Ukay-Ukay, aka thrifting.  This week was chill, we had a lot of teachings and eleven new friends. We are working hard because my comp doesn't want to close out his mission trunky so we are locked in. As for fun things that happened this week: we held a lot of goats and chickens. It was a blast-- you can literally run up to a baby goat and just pick one up and a majority of the time they are just like, "Oh hi, how are you doing?" It's a blast. Today though we went to San Fernando and we had been off the bus for like 2 minutes when some dude came up to us and asked, "Are you guys missionaries?" Well hello there my fellow people, I hope that you are well and the sun has been shining in your life. If not, I hope that I can help provide a little sunshine or smile for you. These past two weeks have been interesting, that's for sure-- I've learned a lot about what I want to become, and what I want my mission to look like.  I had the opportunity to do exchanges with Elder Jessop, he was our formal AP for 10 months and he's in his last few transfers.  This experience was amazing, I have found it hard to explain the things that I learned to Elder Baker and Blaser. The largest thing though that really changed for me is numbers. I think I was just kinda like the rest of everyone around me, I didn’t like them but I "understood" why we have them. Then I had this exchange and I really learned why numbers are there. How many rolls is it socially acceptable to take at one time? - 6 Oct 2025

Kumusta po (hello, how are you doing) everyone? Sorry for wala (no) email last week, I was busy and really just didn't feel like writing one by the time that I was able to, so I'll cover what happened in this email. I've had the chance to try some crazy foods while I've been here. Its kinda wild but I've been enjoying it. I've eaten everything from chicken feet to some mango jello cream stuff. I can also say with full confidence that I have tried literally almost every part of the chicken aside from the head and it all tastes the exact same, the only thing that is different is the texture. So you might be a little curious about the title. Basically, the rolls here are the best thing I have ever had (sorry Bella they might top your bread.) These things are amazing. I'm averaging about 16 of them a day and if they served them at breakfast, I would probably be averaging 24 because they are so heavenly-- I don't know what they are putting into those things. ...
