Lit Tatays and Born Agains - Jan. 5, 2026

Sorry for no email last week, idk why I didn't write one. Basta these have been some intresting two weeks. 

Muna Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Blackout year 2026, yay. 

Anyways Christmas was chill, we just ate with some members and called our families then really didn't do anything cause everyone was drunk. Then came New Years, holy these people get lit. We were freaking chilling at the house cause early curfew but then people were getting lit outside our apartment so we went and looked and it was just a crazy experience that I can't even explain. I'll put a video in my Google photos. The rest of the week even more people were wasted. Its crazy, its like everyone was drunk for Christmas and then all those same people were drunk for new years and then its like more people spawned in to be drunk people. Sometimes this place doesn't feel real, it's wild. Besides that, not a ton has been happening. The work is hard when most people are drunk because you can't get a return appointment. They are very kind however, one almost gave Blaser a turkey but Blaser turned it down, because it was bros prize turkey. They're great. 

 As for the work, we are in a weird limbo where people aren't progressing or accepting, but they come to church (Sister Gina and Mary Ann). So idk what we gonna do about that but I think it'll all work out the end. Sometimes its just unfortunate that no matter how hard we work if it's not God's time or their time they won't accept it. I just wanna be able to understand Tagalog. I don't even care about speaking it anymore I just want to understand it. 

We went to a church that was born again cause while we were finding, the church's pastor was at a house we went by, so they invited us in. They definitely weren't actually born again more just like chill generic Christains. They loved us though and they thought it was crazy that we would do this at this age. When we went to church we thought they were going to bash us but they were chill. Just God loving people. Those are low-key the best people to teach cause when you show them the truth I feel like they recognize it easier. 

Welp, I don’t know what else I should speak about but ya. We’ve got like a week and a half of this transfer left. Odds are Phelps will leave which is sad but I'll see him when I’m done. It's crazy how close you become with people. I didn't even really know Elder Phelps before this. After 3 month, he's my guy now.

What a week. We spent a lot of time walking around the Bukid and Bundock or farms and mountains. I think my butt its getting bigger or my pants are getting smaller cause I'm starting to get a little claustrophobic in those things, but its ok. That's why we have Ukay-Ukay, aka thrifting.  This week was chill, we had a lot of teachings and eleven new friends. We are working hard because my comp doesn't want to close out his mission trunky so we are locked in. As for fun things that happened this week: we held a lot of goats and chickens. It was a blast-- you can literally run up to a baby goat and just pick one up and a majority of the time they are just like, "Oh hi, how are you doing?" It's a blast. Today though we went to San Fernando and we had been off the bus for like 2 minutes when some dude came up to us and asked, "Are you guys missionaries?" Well hello there my fellow people, I hope that you are well and the sun has been shining in your life. If not, I hope that I can help provide a little sunshine or smile for you. These past two weeks have been interesting, that's for sure-- I've learned a lot about what I want to become, and what I want my mission to look like.  I had the opportunity to do exchanges with Elder Jessop, he was our formal AP for 10 months and he's in his last few transfers.  This experience was amazing, I have found it hard to explain the things that I learned to Elder Baker and Blaser. The largest thing though that really changed for me is numbers. I think I was just kinda like the rest of everyone around me, I didn’t like them but I "understood" why we have them. Then I had this exchange and I really learned why numbers are there. Kumusta po (hello, how are you doing) everyone? Sorry for wala (no) email last week, I was busy and really just didn't feel like writing one by the time that I was able to, so I'll cover what happened in this email. I've had the chance to try some crazy foods while I've been here. Its kinda wild but I've been enjoying it. I've eaten everything from chicken feet to some mango jello cream stuff. I can also say with full confidence that I have tried literally almost every part of the chicken aside from the head and it all tastes the exact same, the only thing that is different is the texture. So you might be a little curious about the title. Basically, the rolls here are the best thing I have ever had (sorry Bella they might top your bread.) These things are amazing. I'm averaging about 16 of them a day and if they served them at breakfast, I would probably be averaging 24 because they are so heavenly-- I don't know what they are putting into those things. ...
